Paperny goes east
by: Jul 21, 2008 Print

CBC has renewed The Week the Women Went for a second season, paving the way for Paperny Films to pull all the female residents from Tatamagouche, NS.

"We are very excited about profiling this unique maritime village," says Cal Shumiatcher, executive producer at the Vancouver production company, adding that his team got a "warm reception" from the small fishing village.

The 8 x 60 series - which last summer was set in the Alberta town of Hardisty - is part social experiment, part docu-soap, with each episode chronicling the drama, humor, frustration and fun that occurs when the men in a small town are pushed to their limits while without female support.
